The Tariff

The Marlborough rates include:

  • Premium, Deluxe & Queen Room
  • Pre-dinner drink and canapes each evening
  • Full continental and cooked breakfast options each morning
  • Complimentary minibar - including wine & beer
  • Twice daily service of room and evening turndown
  • Complimentary Hi speed Wi-Fi use throughout the lodge
  • New Zealand Goods and Services Tax (GST)


  • The Marlborough has 10 Rooms:  Premium Room (4 upstairs and 2 downstairs), Deluxe Room (upstairs) and Queen Rooms (2 downstairs and 1 upstairs), plus a Twin Room which can interconnect through a bathroom to a Premium Room (upstairs).  
  • Each Room (except the Twin Room) has it's own private ensuite featuring toilet, large walk in shower and vanity. Premium and Deluxe Rooms also have a large seperate bathtub.
  • The Premium & Deluxe rooms have a king bed - with the Premium Rooms being able to be split into a twin configuration.  The Queens Rooms have a Queen Bed (non splittable).
  • All Premium & Deluxe rooms are furnished with comfortable lounging chair(s), wardrobe, mini-fridge, Nespresso coffee machine
  • Queen Rooms are furnished with small hanging space on wall, mini-fridge and Nespresso coffee machine
  • All rooms have under floor heating in bathroom and individually controlled air conditioning

Room Size/Capacity

All Rooms have a maximum capacity of 2 people.

Premium Rooms have a normal capacity of 2 people. However, for an additional charge, a rollaway bed can be added by arrangement for  a max of 1 child under the age of 16 years, (a maximum capacity of 3 guests). Please enquire if you wish to add a rollaway bed [email protected]


Festive Season 23 December - 5 January, Peak season 1 October - 30 April,  Low Season 1 May - 30 September

Minimum Length of Stay

23 December - 5 January (Festive Season) 3 night minimum stay. 1 November – 31 March inclusive, two night minimum length of stay.  Outside of this there is no minimum length of stay - any questions please contact us [email protected]  

Check in / Out

Check in is available from 2.00pm. Check out is available until 11.00am. Enquire whether late check out is possible. We do not accept Check in's or Check out's on 25 December (Christmas Day)

Child Policy

Children seven years and older are welcome to stay when we have other guests. Children of all ages are welcome when The Marlborough is booked exclusively. We offer a Family Room option by arrangement - please enquire.

Payment Terms

Standard Payments

  • Rooms may be “held” at no charge for a maximum of 3 working days and then must be confirmed with a deposit payment of 10% or released.
  • Deposit payment is refundable if cancelled more than 60 days out from the date of stay although a $250 administraton fee will be deducted
  • All bookings for The Marlborough must be paid in full 30 days prior to the date of stay.

Festive Season Payments

This applies to the festive season date range of 23 December to 5 January:

  • 25% non refundable deposit at the time of reservation.
  • Balance of payment 90 days out from the date of stay.

Cancellation Policy

Standard Cancellations

  • Cancellation more than 60 days out from the date of stay – your 10% deposit will be fully refunded.
  • Cancellation within 60 days from the date of stay – 10% cancellation fee.
  • Cancellation within 30 days from the date of stay – cancellation fee of 100% will be charged.
  • Administration fee of $250 per booking is payable on all cancellations
  • Covid - where the NZ Govt has determined that travel may not occur from your location in NZ or if we can not accept guests under their ruling we will transfer the amount paid to an alternative date or will refund if no other date can be found. 

Festive Season Cancellations

This applies to the festive season date range of 23 December to 5 January:

  • Cancellations 120 - 90 days from the date of stay - loss of 25% deposit
  • Cancellation within 90 days from the date of stay – Cancellation fee of 100%.
  • Administration fee of $250 per booking is payable on all cancellations

Wonderful Surprise. My husband booked us here as a treat whilst traveling around the area. It was a truly lovely stay. We wish we booked longer! The staff is brilliant and friendly - always smiling and quick to offer anything we might have needed. The property - WOW! It is incredibly well cared for and decorated to be current whilst maintaining the integrity and the history of the building (a challenge few people get spot on - they do!) . We will surely be back - hopefully when it is warmer so we can take advantage of the pool and more outdoor activities. Still well worth the stay in the offseason - the wineries are still open in June!

Amazing! The Marlborough Lodge is just amazing! Wonderful room with a perfect bedding. Huge bathroom. Refined decoration. The convent, separate from the the main premise, is a unique place to have an appetitive before the diner. Very nice and professional staff. Interesting wine list. A place to be in the Marlborough Region.

A must stay! This place is incredible - located on a great piece of property very close to the airport and has amazing views. It has great food and wine and the rooms and staff are great people. Outdoor fire place where they host pre dinner drinks every night - a must stay if you visit this area!
