Lodge Tariff

Lodge rates include:

  • Premium Lodge Suite, Lodge Suite or Lodge Room
  • Pre-dinner drink and canapes
  • Full continental and cooked breakfast options
  • Complimentary minibar - including wine & beer
  • Complimentary Hi speed Wi-Fi use throughout the lodge
  • New Zealand Goods and Services Tax (GST)

Rooms & Suites

  • The Lodge has 10 Suites:  Premium Suites (4 upstairs and 1 downstairs), Lodge Suites (upstairs & downstairs) and Lodge Rooms (2 downstairs), plus a Twin Room which can interconnect through a bathroom to a Premium Suite.  
  • Each Room & Suite (except the Twin Room) has it's own private ensuite featuring toilet, large walk in shower and vanity. Premium and Lodges Suites also have a large seperate bathtub.
  • The Lodge Suites and Premium Suites have a king bed - with the Premium Suites being able to be split in twin.  The Lodge Rooms have a Queen Bed (non splittable).
  • All Lodge & Premium Suites & Rooms are furnished with comfortable lounging chair(s), wardrobe, mini-fridge, Nespresso coffee machine
  • Lodge Rooms are furnished with hanging space on wall, mini-fridge and Nespresso coffee machine
  • All Suites and rooms have under floor heating in bathroom and individually controlled air conditioning

Room / Suite Capacity

All Rooms have a maximum capacity of 2 people.

Premium Suites have a normal capacity of 2 people. However, for an additional charge, a rollaway bed can be added by arrangement for  a max of 1 child under the age of 16 years, giving a maximum capacity of 3 guest for an additional charge. Please enquire if you wish to add a rollaway bed [email protected]


Festive Season 23 December - 5 January, Peak season 1 October - 30 April,  Low Season 1 May - 30 September

Minimum Length of Stay

23 December - 5 January (Festive Season) 3 night minimum stay. 1 November – 31 March inclusive, two night minimum length of stay.  Outside of this there is no minimum length of stay - any questions please contact us [email protected]   

Check in / Out

Check in is available from 2.00pm. Check out is available until 11.00am. Enquire whether late check out is possible. We do not accept Check in's or Check out's on 25 December (Christmas Day)

Child Policy

Children seven years and older are welcome to stay when we have other guests. Children of all ages are welcome when the lodge is booked exclusively. We offer a Family Suite option by arrangement - please enquire.

Payment Terms

Standard Payments

  • Rooms may be “held” at no charge for a maximum of 3 working days and then must be confirmed with a deposit payment of 10% or released.
  • Deposit payment is refundable if cancelled more than 60 days out from the date of stay although a $250 administraton fee will be deducted
  • All bookings for The Marlborough Lodge must be paid in full 30 days prior to the date of stay.

Festive Season Payments

This applies to the festive season date range of 23 December to 5 January:

  • 25% non refundable deposit at the time of reservation.
  • Balance of payment 90 days out from the date of stay.

Cancellation Policy

Standard Cancellations

  • Cancellation more than 60 days out from the date of stay – your 10% deposit will be fully refunded.
  • Cancellation within 60 days from the date of stay – 10% cancellation fee (loss of deposit).
  • Cancellation within 30 days from the date of stay – cancellation fee of 100% will be charged.
  • Administration fee of $250 per booking is payable on all cancellations

Festive Season Cancellations

This applies to the festive season date range of 23 December to 5 January:

  • Cancellations 120 - 90 days from the date of stay - loss of 25% deposit
  • Cancellation within 90 days from the date of stay – Cancellation fee of 100%.
  • Administration fee of $250 per booking is payable on all cancellations

What our customers say

Extraordinary luxury hotel. This hotel simply could not be improved upon! The building is lovely with an effortlessly elegant decor. We had a large suite with a second room for our son, separated by a huge bathroom. The room was perfect, with just the right amount of flair and panache without feeling overdone. Our bed was extremely comfortable and the linens were fantastic. The whole property has several wrap around porches, which are great for sitting outside and taking in the stunning views of the property, including a small vineyard. The setting is so serene — you are minutes from the local wineries and restaurants but you feel completely away from everything. We went on a tour with the gardener, who showed us the chickens (fresh eggs for breakfast every day!) and beautiful stream and plants. There are lots of citrus trees and gardens on the grounds. In the evenings, we enjoyed canapés and wine in a small chapel on the property, next to a roaring fire. And the food was delicious throughout! We enjoyed our evening dinners immensely and also had very tasty breakfasts, including local preserves and fresh juice. The staff was super friendly and made all of us, including our 8-year old son, feel so welcome. The manager was wonderful and made sure we all felt special. I would highly recommend this location.

Amazing! The Marlborough Lodge is just amazing! Wonderful room with a perfect bedding. Huge bathroom. Refined decoration. The convent, separate from the the main premise, is a unique place to have an appetitive before the diner. Very nice and professional staff. Interesting wine list. A place to be in the Marlborough Region.

A must stay! This place is incredible - located on a great piece of property very close to the airport and has amazing views. It has great food and wine and the rooms and staff are great people. Outdoor fire place where they host pre dinner drinks every night - a must stay if you visit this area!

Wonderful Surprise. My husband booked us here as a treat whilst traveling around the area. It was a truly lovely stay. We wish we booked longer! The staff is brilliant and friendly - always smiling and quick to offer anything we might have needed. The property - WOW! It is incredibly well cared for and decorated to be current whilst maintaining the integrity and the history of the building (a challenge few people get spot on - they do!) . We will surely be back - hopefully when it is warmer so we can take advantage of the pool and more outdoor activities. Still well worth the stay in the offseason - the wineries are still open in June!
